Traits
Zag (Common)
Category: Markings
Species: Drakiri
OVERVIEW
Marking Codes: /cZag/nZag/ZagZag
- Jagged striping resembling bolts of lightning, but also a marking modifier that effects the shape of markings. It can create zigzag shapes at the edges of markings, and can create a white zagging streak in the mane. It may have a soft gradient beneath the marking creating a faux glow effect.
- Jagged fur like markings, tracing the contour of the fur. They can be as simple as little zigzags following the fur direction, to faded into the base coat on the inside, giving the effect of a wolf's ruff. It can also modify the edges of markings to give them a furred texture, or add a subtle fur texture to the entire Drakiri
RANGE AND DETAILS
- Zag is restricted to the neck up on manes, usually presenting near the head in a streak of white, often jagged. It can effect any part of the Drakiri.
- Zag can create up to two jagged "streaks" in the mane when used in the main, to avoid looking too much like Stroke or Split
MIN RANGE
- At least one zagged stripe should appear somewhere on your Drakiri, or at least a small bolt along the side.
MAX RANGE
- Zag can appear anywhere on the Drakiri aside from the limbs and tail, though it can only make streaks on the neck and above for the mane.
OTHER RANGE INFO
- Zag can only effect the scales if Marked Scales are present.
COLOR TEXTURE AND GRADIENT
- Zag must lighter than what sits beneath it unless Reversal is present. The gradient beneath must be the same color as the marking itself, and must not obscure the marking.
- Gradient can change the color of the faux glow beneath the striping
LAYERING
- Zag can layer above or below any markings aside from Satin, Stone and Piebald.
PHYSICAL MUTATIONS
- Zag can create zags on the wings of Phoenix.

Barring (Uncommon)
Category: Markings
Species: Drakiri
OVERVIEW
Marking Codes: /cBar/nBar/BarBar
Horizontal banding in the mane and tail fur
RANGE AND DETAILS
- Barring only effects the mane and tail fur. If phoenix is present, it can appear on the flight feathers.
MIN RANGE
- A single band in the mane/tail fur This band should be separated from where the mane touches the body, as otherwise it will look like mimimal mane tips. If the band follows where the mane attaches to the body, there should be a second band somewhere to make it clearly barring instead of minimal mane tips.
MAX RANGE
- Banding effecting every bit of mane/tail for on the Drakiri
COLOR, TEXTURE AND GRADIENT
- Can be lighter or darker than the base coat
LAYERING AND GAPS/HOLES
- Layers over or under other mane markings
PHYSICAL MUTATIONS
- Can effect the flight feathers on Phoenix wings
Known Interactions
When interacting with Mane Tips, Barring can create a band along the base where the mane attachs to the body while Tips effects the tips of the mane. If interactiong, the markings should be the same color to count as an interaction.

As a variant, it can also resemble the markings of an Appaloosa horse. Roan can appear in up to three transparency levels, and can fade into the base coat. This is a fullbody marking and can appear anywhere on the Drakiri, even effecting the mane where it touches. Roan can not effect the scales unless Marked Scales is present. - Roan may have small holes known as liver spots. These spots will show the markings below.
- The holes in roan must be solid edged, or soft edged but can have a fur texture.
LAYERING
- Roan layers over all markings aside from Stone and Piebald. Roan can interact with Piebald, softening it and creating holes, or having some parts fading into roan. Spots, however, can layer over Roan, and Dapples and Frosted can interact to create snowflaking effects.
OTHER INFORMATION
- Roan can interact with Piebald, allowing the edges of Piebald to blend into the coat with the small holes appearing all throughout.
