Glittery Halloween
Neixaros checked himself at the mirror, making sure his fairy costume was on correctly. The one piece cloth protected his mane on the back from getting tangled into the strings holding the wings up. The one piece was tied at his shoulders and belly area. As he adjusted them, he heard his older littermate Sylurka call out to him.
"Hey, mind hurrying up a little? I'd like to be able to leave on time instead of late!"
"I will be down soon!" he called back before grumbling to himself. Sighing, he made sure he was comfortable and that the glitter made the rest of himself sparkle before grabbing the wand with his magic.
In the living room, he was greeted to the sights of his two littermates, Sylurka and Igneous, and their half sibling, Zaliash. Sylurka had dressed herself as a cowgirl complete with the hat, vest, and cloth stylized on her rear. Igneous was going as a drakiri that worked with fire and got a bit burned. Neixaros had gave him some pointers on makeup and was amused how overboard his younger littermate went with it. Zaliash went with his favorite animal: golden eagle.
"Good, you're here," Sylurka said upon seeing him after checking out the younger ones. Neixaros rolled his eyes and joined the group.
"Wow, you look good!" Zaliash complemented him as he looked over Neixaros's outfit. "Did you add sparkles to your fur?"
"I did. We'll have to deal with glitter in the house for while." Neixaros chuckled, not minding him taking a better look.
"Hey, did I do okay with the makeup?" Igneous had walked over since Sylurka had turned her attention to making sure they had bags and stuff for the night fun.
"I don't think you need it all over yourself, but it's a good start. I think your best one is your shoulder."
"I think you look great!" Zaliash said with a grin.
"Thanks, Zaliash." Igneous smiled at the young kainu before looking back to Neixaros. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Of course. I can give you more pointers later?"
"Yeah, later."
"Alright, are we good to go?" Sylurka asked, bringing over the bags for them. Once they got their bags, all of them went to the front door where Clovarhak was waiting.
Clovarhak went as a simple witch and smiled upon seeing her children. "Well, don't you look ready for trick or treating."After a chorus of agreements from her kids and double checking everything, she opened the door and led the kids out of the house.
Sarsalia stayed behind as the other witch with the pet cat-spider to hand out treats for the other draks. She was relaxing on a wickedly cool blanket with her pet snoozing on her. "Have a spooky night, everyone!" she greeted them as they exited the house.
"We will!" they replied, eager to start.
---
One house they visited, they saw a bantam Q'lin entertaining a few young draklings. It was soon clear that she was being herself since she was plenty scary with black eyes and tentacles from her dark body. Her dam was resting nearby, munching on a carved pumpkin while observing the scene on the yard. They started to approach as the other draklings left to find other houses.
"Ah, hello all," the Q'lin greeted. "I see your chaperone is also dressed up."
"I'm just a momma witch taking her kids out for the evening," Clovarhak replied with a smile.
"Well, I am Ahna and delighted to meet you all."
They all introduced themselves to Ahna and had a fun time chatting and learning more about her. Just as they were wrapping up with getting the candy, Neixaros stood in front of Ahna. "Um, Ahna, I'd like to cast a spell for you."
"I'd be delighted."
Neixaros smiled and got in position. "I cast this spell to wish you a Happy Halloween!" He did a little flourish of his wand to cause the glitter to sprinkle down on Ahna. He did ask to do the same for Ruin and was delighted to be allowed to cast it. Having Ahna there during the cast boosted his spirit.
--
"RED ALERT. RED ALERT. INTERUDERS."
The sudden loud voice startled the draklings after they stepped in the yard. The area was suddenly lit with red lights in accompany to the voice which had repeated itself a few times before ceasing. Then, they saw a sand colored kainu walking through the red lit yard and clicked on a button to change the red lighting to a softer white one.
"Hello everyone! Sorry about the alarm system. Engineering is working on it. I'm Captain James T. Kirk of the Enterprise. What brought you all here?" With the better lighting and the kainu coming forward, they were able to see him dressed as the famous captain from Star Trek.
"...Trick or treat?" Sylurka replied after a moment of silence. The rest of her siblings soon followed with their chorus of "Trick or treat!"
"Ah, that's right. It's Halloween! Got some treats for you all." Kirk brought out a bowl for them to look through and pick.
"U-um, Captain James Kirk?" Neixaros had picked his and waited for his siblings to finish picking before speaking up.
"Yes, little one?"
"I'd like to cast a spell for you."
"Oh? Why go ahead."
The mystic fairy settled himself into position and said, "I cast this spell to wish you a Happy Halloween!" With a wave of his wand, sprinkles of glitter sparkled down on the Captain.
"Oh, thank you for the spell," the Captain replied, masking his disappointment with cheerfulness. "Have a Happy Halloween to you too."
--
Several houses later, they arrived to a house owned by a sparkly dracus, Elentari. Zaliash was quick to point it out and that Neixaros was also sparkly. The draklings were surprised to find that the dracus replied by writing in the notepad to communicate instead of talking. Still, they happily accepted the treats she got for them.
"Elentari? I'd like to cast a spell for you!" Neixaros said once he got her attention. His siblings had moved aside to let him cast the spell. He gave a huge smile upon seeing Elentari nodding her head in response. "I cast this spell to wish you a Happy Halloween!" He waved his wand to sprinkle the glitter on her, attempting to have it on her mane. "There! Your mane is now sparkly like you!"
--
In contrast to the quiet dracus, the next one was a loud kainu dressed as a famous princess. Brighid greeted them warmly, complimenting their outfits. Most of them returned the compliment, excited to see an adult drak dressed up. Treats were passed out, leaving Neixaros still on the steps.
"I'd like to cast you a spell, Princess Brighid."
Brighid gasped and squee a yes in response. He tried not to flinch from the sudden response.
Smiling, he said, "I cast this spell to wish you a Happy Halloween!" He waved his wand over the princess, sprinkling the glitter over her.
The glitter added a nice touch to her outfit.
--
When the night soon draws to a close, the draklings with Clovarhak arrived back to their home, seeing Sarsalia sending off the last of the late kids with candy. "I see you all are back! Having a good night?"
"Yes we did!" "It was lovely!" "I gave spells!" A choir of overlap chatter from the draklings answered her.
Sarsalia chuckled. "Glad you all enjoyed yourselves. What houses did you see?"
The draklings took turns telling her all the houses they have seen and what fun times they had.
"Neix nearly lost most of his glitter when a moving ghost startled him," Zaliash told her.
"It hit my wand and buried a pumpkin with glitter," Neixaros replied with a pout. "I-I tried to clean it the best I can."
Sarsalia patted the fairy mystic. "Accidents happen, and you did well."
He slowly nodded, blinking away the tears. "U-um. I know it's late and all, but would you all like a spell?"
"All?"
"Yeah! I'd like to cast a spell to my family."
None of them refused and sat comfortably on the lawn. Neixaros lightly waved his wand as he said, "I cast this spell to my family to wish you a Happy Halloween and being the best family I have!" He trotted to the first to start sprinkling glitter and continued down to the last family member.
With the glittery Halloween coming to a close, they went inside, smiling.
A cute sparkly night with Neixaros and his family on Halloween. And a few glittery spells.
