Spessy's encounter with a dating sim- 2022 February challenge

The drakiri sighed heavily, flopped over her blanket covered bed, her green tinged tail swishing back and forth in mild boredom as she played on her phone. Text flashed up on the screen as she played through this game Rosewood had suggested to her to try and alleviate her boredom. Little did she know, the amber Drak had let hours passed as she continued play it, though now came the hard decision. And Spessy loathed hard decisions.

After making around three dozen optional choices throughout the story line, it came down to this. Two Drakiri had "fallen" for her charm and loved her responses as she played, mainly due to automatic "relationship building" decisions factoring into this... or something. She didn't pretend to know absolutely exactly how it worked. As she read through it, she bit her lip softly, flicking between the two profiles to choose.

A red Dracus, who's profile showed him holding a rose in his maw, the black petals standing out against his red frame, blotches of piebald around his body. Amber, fading to a dull yellow, plates covered his underbelly, dappled with bleached areas. He was an arrogant, prideful drakiri who she couldn't believe she got. She almost wanted to choose him for the hilarity factor, but with the way the storyline would go with someone like that... she really didn't like them, knowing it would likely end up with her being portrayed as some sort of showcase. And she was anything but that... though the other option was also questionable.

They were a green Kelpie, their paws holding together with a shy blush over their face. They were obviously a very smooth and sleek drakiri, no evidence of any fluff on them. Completely smooth, which a pale green underbelly and a blue-tinged tail. They seemed quite plain and their personality was hidden... though there was a blue star next to their name. "Mal".

She swapped between the app and the messenger system, shooting Rosewood a text.

"So, what on earth does the blue star mean?"

Rosewood replied almost instantly.
WHAAAAAT???? Blue star, are you serious?
That's a hidden profile...
How in the world did you manage to get it!!!
I wanna know who it is!
Come on girl, don't leave me in suspense!

"Its someone called Mal. Thanks for letting me know, I think I'm gonna choose them now."

She closed the messaging app, groaning softly. She never knew why they could spam 4 messages in LESS than 30 seconds. They were addicted to their phone.

Opening up the dating sim again, she clicked the green tick on the profile. Instantly the image changed, the drakiri becoming much more confident with a toothy, excited grin, with the text, "You won't regret this!" Coming over the screen.

She chuckled softly... "I better not..." Spessy said, laughing softly, as if the dating sim could hear her.

But little did she know, that dating sim was more than just a game. It was more of a dating app, designed to hook Drakiri together and get to know one another as if it were just a simulation.

So her life was about to get much, much more complicated than she intended.
