Kimahri is a grumpy man, who tends to keep others at a distance intentionally. He does his best to not be seen in Drakiri form, and will hide away when he can no longer sustain his human form.

Brief History;

Kimahri’s life was fairly simple, practicing his Magic and skills, while enjoying time in the sun when he napped. However, his way of life changed when he realized he was being hunted. He took to keeping to the shadows, and being cautious. As much as he might have been able to defend himself, he wasn’t partial to fighting anyone, even a hunter.

One day, the Huntress revealed herself by falling down a rather large cliff and sliding down to the river at the bottom, where he was hiding. She had injured herself badly, and despite having been hunted by her, Kimahri couldn’t just leave her there. So the big Dracus male scooped her up in one of his large front paws and carried her back to his den.

He discovered that her name was Rosanna Wildemont. While the last name really struck no chords with him, he came to discover from her stories that her family was from a long line of Drakiri Hunters. Rosanna shared no love for the hunt as her family did, and in truth she did intentionally bad on her hunts so she wouldn’t have to bring down any of her marks.

Her eyes shone like emeralds, and her hair fell down her back in beautiful red ringlets. She was fair and freckled, and was strong enough to hold her own if need be. She was a wild kind of woman, who had an intense love for the nature and world around them. She told Kimahri stories he had never heard, and sung him songs of her people that her mother had passed down to her. Kimahri found it a shame, really, that her family drove her so hard to be a killer that she obviously wasn’t.

It took a while for her wounds to heal, and Kimahri felt oddly sad to see her go. He looked on, feeing like part of himself was leaving as he watched her walk away. Days passed, and he found himself missing her even still days later. Surely though, given that she was human and came from a family of Hunters, he shouldn’t be missing her so. The best surprise he could ever have received in his life, was when she walked back through his den entrance almost a week later. She was smiling, but there was a sadness behind her eyes.

She admitted that she couldn’t bring herself to go back to her family. She wanted them to believe she had perished in her Hunt of him so she could do what she wanted to do. She also admitted that she had missed him as well. Kimahri didn’t have to give much thought to offering to let her stay at his den, he was happy to have it happen if she accepted, which Rosanna accepted without skipping a beat.

The two eventually ended up admitting to each other that they loved one another, and they coupled together in a natural progression from their friendship. They cuddled together and slept with one another at night, and he would patrol the territory while Rosanna collected food, berries, herbs, and would cook them meals and make their clothes. The two were truly happy together.

One night however, something didn’t feel right. Kimahri’s usual rounds of his territory had revealed signs of strangers. He was on edge the entire day, but could never quite bring himself to tell Rosanna that something was amiss. That night, as he laid awake while Rosanna slept peacefully on his chest, they came; the Widlemont family had found them, and they were there to finish the job Rosanna failed, and to take her back.

Their plan went south, however, when Rosanna refused to return with them, and stood between her family and Kimahri, brandishing her sword in nothing but her simple night gown. Rosanna’s father, whom Kimahri came to know as Edward, decided that if she would continue to betray them and protect the Drakiri demon that was seducing her, then his only course of action would be to kill the stain on the Wildemont family before news spread and ruined their pristine reputation amongst the Lords of the lands.

Before Kimahri could react, Edward had driven his sword clean through his daughter’s body, and threw her to the ground like discarded trash. She watched Kimahri with a smile as she died, and seeing the flame of life drain from her beautiful eyes drove Kimahri to see red. He has no memory of what he had done, other than waking up next to Rosanna’s cold body, with the bodies of her family ripped to pieces around them, Kimahri stained with their blood.

Stricken with shock and grief, Kimahri proceeded to pick up Rosanna’s lifeless body and kiss her forehead one last time. His hand reached up and plucked the jade butterfly hat hung on her neck to keep in memory of her. The sad shell of a Drakiri that Kimahri was then proceeded to take her body to their favorite spot by the river, where he laid her body to rest in a grave of stones.

He stayed there for days, his large Dracus body curled around the grave as he wept. Days blurred into nights, and blurred into the next day. He still isn’t for sure how many days he stayed there, but he eventually dragged himself away from her final resting place. He no longer lives in the den by the river. Instead, he’s chosen to move to another place. He intentionally kept himself close though, so he could watch over and maintain his love’s grave. Her death turned his heart cold, and he’s no longer the person he was before. He’s doing his best to move on and live his life, if only for her sake, but he’ll always love her.
