Quiet, reserved, and not willing to rock the boat if she thinks it'll inconvenience others, but she tries very hard to reach out to others who seem to be a little more alone and/or struggling with something, and make sure her friends are alright, so really, she's doing the best she can. Puts a lot of pressure on herself to live up to her perceived "standards" of her parents and to always be patient and understanding to others, resulting in a lot of repressed negativity, but under all that she genuinely wants to be kind and bring joy to people.

Attempts to be calm and polite and can take a lot of shit if she's the only one involved, but can and will throw hands if her friends or family are belittled or treated badly. Sought to learn how to manipulate Earth magic at higher levels as a way to help her release any pent-up anger or frustration, since tending to plants helps to ground her, but also to give any aggressor a good shock, should they insult her loved ones.

Is quite nervous when it comes to speaking up for herself, or about a (non-person) thing that she really loves, but will go off if given the chance to talk about plant care, or bugs, or how to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie, or the stash of things brought back from explorations that she hoards, and their uses in potion making.

Main motivation: wants her family, her friends, and maybe a few more people after that to be happy.

Relationships:

Valfrey - stepmother. Was found all alone by her and her partner Magan when Astraea was really young, and they raised her as their daughter ever since. Astraea puts a lot of pressure on herself to learn spells since Valfrey's the head of the local witch's coven and she thinks her stepmother might want her to be her successor some day, though Valfrey herself doesn't mind whichever path her daughter wants to take.

Magan - stepparent. Was found all alone by him and his partner Valfrey when Astraea was really young, and they raised her as their daughter ever since. Astraea gets more chances to talk to them, since they're less busy than Valfrey, and they're the one who she's most comfortable with opening up to about most things, and also the one who takes her out of town the most whenever she looks like she's had a bad day, and trying to track down the rare plant species in her encyclopedia would make her feel better.

Rudi - best friend since young, WIP

Altair - mentor/carefree wine aunt. Valfrey let Astraea get in touch with them when Astraea wanted to learn about other aspects of magic, and then their bi-weekly sessions quickly turned into niece and "aunt" bonding time (ala sticking noses up in things that aren't their business and causing chaos). As much as Astraea admires her mentor's guts to charge into basically anything without fear, she is also Very Aware of the Consequences and often attempts to do damage control afterwards, be it successful or not, and very occasionally attempts to advise Altair against doing something phenomenally stupid.
