You may have noticed something a string of codes, next to the “Health” line, and wondered what those were. Those are known as fault codes! Fault codes are like recessive genes that are completely inactive, unless you get two of the same code on a geno. You can only get two of the same fault code from breeding Drakiri that share a code, and even then it isn't guaranteed though rarer codes are more likely to pass than common codes. If those two happen to match up on a geno, a fault is rolled - think of these like defects. Hornless, Sterile, Blind, Crippled, and so on. Some are visible on your Import, others have gameplay effects.
You can mostly ignore this string of codes, other than placing it in the extra information of your Drakiri's Health trait. Unless a pair being bred shares a code, they will not have any effect on your Drakiri and are simply there. Think something similar to recessive genes that have to be inherited from both parents to have any effect.
All fault codes originate from a starter, and each fault code has a rarity tier assigned. Each Starter has three fault codes, which are assigned to Semicustoms and random genos based on rarity. Player-owned drakiri will all have no more and no less than 6 fault codes, 3 inherited from each parent.
The rarer codes are checked if they pass first, and are more likely to pass on and stick to the Drakiri. The rarity tier only counts if the Drakiri are inbreeding. If inbreeding, the rarity tier of the fault codes will effect the severity of the faults. If two Drakiri are not inbreeding, but share a fault, only common-uncommon tier faults will roll that shared code. If they are inbreeding, the severity of the fault will be effected by the rarity tier of the code. For example, two Drakiri share a Legendary fault code, but do not share an ancestor. That Legendary code matches up. Despite being a legendary code. the faults rolled would only be common-uncommon tier, or fairly minor faults. As long as the geno has "Healthy" instead of "Inbred" as their health, faults can be removed with a Golden Apple, which can be purchased from the Gratitude Token shop for 10GT and the Drakiri Market for 15000 Aurics. As an alternate example, take two Drakiri that share an ancestor and a legendary fault code. When bred together, that Legendary fault code has a chance to pass on from both parents, and if it does the Drakiri will inherit Legendary tier faults, with a high likelihood of the breeding failing (A miscairrege) or a stillborn geno, and other faults with severe effects.
This goes either for inbred Drakiri, or Drakiri that share an ancestor, but that ancestor is being bumped off of the lineage in the resulting genos when bred. If the ancestor is bumped off of the lineage, the Drakiri will breed as if they are inbred, following the rarity tier of the rarest fault codes in the code string OR the rarity of any matching codes if any match. They will not, however, miscarry or produce stillborn genos so in this case.
Have fun breeding!
