Into the Winds

Using her nose and her ears she sniff out the could mountain.  Listing for the sounds of the wind howling and the feel of the cold on the wind as she try flying tower the mountain blind but she trust her nose and her ears as she move in the air. Listing closely to everything around her and any new smells that came about on the wind.  Few times she swears she smells another drak out here.  With out her eyes she did not know as she stop and listen again.

Ra slowly paused to look to the skys. He was always watching to see if any unfortunate drak was out there. Once he found a simple ledge to rest on he purched like he always did with a stone cold exposure. His entire body weight resting on the jagged rockslide he had decided to sit on. He could smell and hear other draks but for now he couldn't see them.

Ardrim wasn't exactly a quiet flyer. .....Okay, he wasn't a quiet flyer at all, really. And that was on the best of days, with the best of weather. Today was not one of those days. It was no surprise, of course Galabastarin's highest peak would be fraught with all manner of storms. And he wasn't anywhere even near the top yet. But that was okay! Everything was fine! Or so he convinced himself, as harsh gusts of wind blew him to and fro. He'd come looking for a challenge anyway. Where would he find one if not here?

She then follows the smell of one drak and take careful steps as she does. Her ears flick around as she listen to the wind howling about.  Now the smell was stronger and before you know it she trip over Ra tail and land face first into his back. "Oohh i am so sorry.  I could smell you but not hear you and will i can't see you." she give a small smile.

Ra turned to face the strange drakiri whose eyes were milky white. "It's quite ok. I honestly just sat here so hopefully I'm not in your way." Ra was while rubbing the back of his neck

"Fuck fuck fuck...." The cursing started out quiet, barely noticeable if you weren't listening for it. But as the wind grew stronger, sweeping Ardrim up and towards the cliff face, it became impossible to ignore. "...Fuck fuck fuck fuuuuuck!" A tan blur of fur and feathers was barreling right towards the two dracus....... Or mostly dracus, anyway. At the last moment he veered to the right, slamming into the rocky wall of the ledge face first. WHUMP.

Avanira head shot up when she heard that. "Are you ok?"  she asked as she look tower the sound. She may not see but she could hear good. "And was it you that was F bombing in the air?  I heard you." she laugh lightly.

Ra looked at the crashed drakiri on the ground. "Well someone is already having a bad day." Ra stated bluntly. He eyed the nightmare with suspicion

He peeled himself off of the wall, shaking any dust and debris off vigorously. The movement almost caused him to topple over the side of the ledge they were all perched on, but he caught himself with a rather clumsy flap of his wings. "Whew! Dang it's hard to balance without a tail." Folding his huge wings, he sat down and seemed to really look at the other two for the first time. "I'm all good, this was a planned landing! Definitely. It was...time for me to take a break." He tried to play it off casually. "What are you guys doing up here?"

She laugh but look at him. "It sure did not sound like one and will heading to the spring that at the top of this mountain." Avanira said.  "Are you both going too?"

"Ya." Ra said almost too quietly to the blind hybrid. His eyes locked onto the nightmare who was lacking a tail. His ears slightly pulled back with distaste for the nightmares look. Ra looked and slightly wrapped his tail around one of the legs on the cross.

"Uhhhhhhhh, well I didn't know there was a spring up there." He looked up the sheer face of the mountain. They were only able to see so far, dark clouds and ice storms obscured the very top. It was impossible to tell just how far up they would have to go. "But sure! I came out here to challenge myself anyways. Let's make a trip of it." Adrim gave them a wide grin. It was sincere, full of enthusiasm.

Avanira jump at when Ra tail was around one of her legs but wonder why he did that.  She heard the other drake. "did anyone ever tell you there are springs across are world?"  She head her head to one side tail flicking.

Ra slowly stretched out like a overgrown cat. His clawed hands grinding and moving against the ground. He noticed a slight change in the already harsh wind. "If we're all going to the spring we better get a move on. The wind has changed direction which means a possible storm is brewing."

"Of course! I'm not dumb. I just....wasn't quite sure where I was goin, I dunno." He scuffed a hoof on the ground, somewhat embarrassed. "I saw a huge mountain and thought damn! It would be cool to fly up there. Y'know? Gotta get the practice in somehow. No more easy stuff for me." Adrim quit rambling when he heard Ra. "Yeah! Good idea. Let's skedaddle." Out came his wings again.

Avanira laughs as she heard him. "You sure you can fly?"  she asked him.

Ra smirked slightly. "Are you able to fly that well at all? That is a question for you both after all."

"You don't have to be rude about it." He pouted, a little defensive. "I'm trying and that's what counts, isn't it? I'm not gonna drag you guys down if that's what you're worried about." He seemed to look a little closer at Avanira, cocking his head. "You two should be fine. You're both dracus, right?" He had no idea what Ra was hinting at, or that she was blind at all.

Avanira felt a bit hurt. "I am blind but it does not stop me from flying to the top of the mountain to the spring."  She look where his voice was as she look at him but could not see him.

"Ok ok geeze no need to be so defensive. It was just a small question." Ra lowered his head before looking at the nightmare. "Yes I'm a dracus."

"Ohhhhhhhhhh shit." His eyes widened (not that anyone but Ra could see) and he nodded in understanding. "That sucks ass. But you managed to get all the way up here, yeah!" He looked at Ra. "None of us are perfect. I mean, you look a bit small for a dracus anyway." He held back a laugh, despite the face that Ra was easily twice his size anyway. "Let's just get on with it already, yeah?"

Avanira sighed but nodded as she look to the nightmare voice. "I do but yes let us get going."

Ra nodded and let out a slight snort. He watched the sky like it was going to bite him or worse.

Despite how he'd seen (and felt) the ferocity of the weather mere minutes ago, he didn't seem the least bit frightened to get back into it. "Any of you guys wanna lead the way? Or I could, if you don't mind the fact that I've never really been here before." Ardrim squinted into the clouds again. "Eh, it can't be that hard to find the top. Even in all the fog I have a feeling it'll be pretty hard to miss... Y'know, since it's the fucking tallest around."

Avanira. "One of you two should lead and i can follow close by or hold on to one of you."  She smiled.

Ra nodded. "I can lead you if you like." Ra chirped. He watched the nightmare. "I don't care who leads. I only care that none of us get hurt."

"Got it." Adrim nodded, gesturing to Avanira despite the fact that she wouldn't be able to see it. "You...can get on... Damn, one second." He looked at Ra, then back at Avanira. "I don't even know your name, haha! Or yours. But I'm Ardrim. You can call me.....Ardrim, I guess."

She heard him as she listen and laugh. "I am Avanira."  She winked.

"I honestly don't care what I'm called just so long as I'm not called shortie or anything of that sort." Ra said in a soft voice. His eyes watched the sky and his own body felt the wind. It wasn't harsh yet but it still hit with a slight force

"Whatever you say..." Ardrim looked at Ra more closely, squinting. He wanted to come up with some sort of nickname, at least. What if he needed to shout at him for something? "...Noodle!" Cliche, but it worked. "Anyway, you can carry Avanira here, since you're similar in size. Also, you know this place, I guess? So you lead. And I'll take up the back to make sure you don't fall off!" He turned to Avanira with a grin. "Man, this is gonna be fun!" He stomped his front hooves in excitement.

she laugh. "I could follow while in the air silly.'  She look at tower Ardrim.  She look at Ra. "I can stay close to you when flying and know that i will not get lost."

"I don't know this place actually. I only just got here two days ago and I still have no idea where I am." Ra muttered almost incoherently to the nightmare. He turned his head to the blind cross. "Sounds good"

Ardrim paused, ears twitching a little in embarrassment. "I! I didn't mean to insinuate that you couldn't fly or anything... My bad. But.......Yeah. I'll still stick to the back. Just to be sure. Though you'll probably be okay!" He gave them both another smile, somewhat sheepish. "You're bigger and more streamlined anyway. No wings to get wind caught in or anything. But let's just get a move on. We can keep jabbering while we're in the air, actually getting shit done. Like I said before, it can't be that hard to find the peak." He nodded at Ra, acknowledging his earlier mumbling.

She let out a soft laugh but look tower Ra voice was coming from.  Being blind was hard at first for her but she grown use to using  her ears and nose so much that the thought of seeing would be something new but shaking that off the Avanira look sniff the air. "hmm sound like good idea."

Ra quickly took to the air like a fish to water except this fish was more of a snake. He looked down at the tail less nightmare and the blind cross.

"Shall we be going?"

"Ha! I thought you'd never ask." He tensed his legs, crouching before leaping off of the ledge. The harsh wind very nearly sent him crashing into the cliff face once more, but he caught himself and flew over to Ra. "Let's- Bleh!" He paused, tossing his head back to get his mane out of his eyes. "Anyway! Let's go ahead and get this party started already."

She nodded and followed the sound of there voices as she laughs hearing Ardrim but stay close to Ra.

Ra looked down at the blind cross. He almost touched her with his tail but decided to keep a slight distance. "Maybe we should trim your mane if it's causing problems with speech."

"We?" He snorted. "I can handle that myself, thank you very much. If I planned to anyway...It's a perfectly fine length as it is! It's just that this damn wind is blowing it all over the place." He spat at it again, trying to angle his face towards the wind so it would blow his mane the other way. "Seriously, it can't be affecting just me here. Ugh.."

She felt that Ra was close with his tail as she then just smiles but laughs. "Sadly not for me."  She then move as she felt the strong winds blow on her. "Maybe have your hair cut short or in what humans say a ponytail?"

With a chuckle ra walked over to the nightmare. "It doesn't effect me but if you can't see then we're going to have some huge problems here." Ra said calmly. His voice was the only thing that was calm as his mind was a whirlwind of fear and worry

He let out a sigh that was probably more dramatic than what the situation called for. "Fine, fine, it's just me I guess. But I'm not cutting it short. Not now, anyway. We have an adventure to go on!" Ardrim paused. "Hmm. It sounds a little cheesy when I put it that way. But that is the plan, isn't it? ...So long as we're going against the wind, hair in the eyes shouldn't be a problem. So lead the way already."

She listen and giggles. "Have you ever try doing ponytail?"  The feeling of the winds blowing around as she stay close to Ra and followed his voice. "We do but."  she stop and did not want to say something to upset the nightmare.

Ra looked over at his companions before looking up the mountain ahead. His eyes finally resting on his blind companion. "Hopefully the wind doesn't get worse."

"If anything it'll be the worst for me. You two don't have huge wings to worry about, after all. But I'm not afraid!" He pawed at the rocky ground impatiently. "If it gets windier I welcome the challenge. If not, oh well. All the better for reaching the spring."

Avanira listen to him and blinked. "will be careful that you don't get blow into a rocks or something.  It feel like the winds will be good from what i can feel." She smiled.

"Winds can easily change." Ra stated bluntly before looking at his blind companion. "But we might be in luck for now." He smiled as he slightly wrapped his tail around her.

"All the more reason to get a move on now, then. Come on, let's go." Adrim opened his wings, letting the wind flow through them.

She giggles at the nightmare words but feels Ra tail as she look to where he could be and put her claws to his side. "Hmm you are right."  She follow after him.  She took in the smell of everything as the wind would toss the smells around.

Ra smiled at her before looking at his poor tailless friend. "Then let's go before we all get blown away." Ra didn't realize that he had wrapped his tail around his blind companion.

"You lead the way then," He looked at Ra, gesturing for him to start flying with a hoof. "I'll be watching from behind." With that he jumped off of the ledge, beating his wings against the wind.

Avanira She felt him moving and kept up with him as she listen and smells her way around her.  There was smells here and there.  Her ears flick as she heard the nightmare spoke. Her head swing behind her to Ardrim. "So you getting batter handle at flying?" she asked him.

Ra slowly looked around the mountain for areas where they could hide from the wind if the weather went for the worst. His small size made it easier for the dracus to fit into areas to protect others around him.

Adrim let out a snort. Though he was sure the question was good natured, he couldn't help but take it as a slight jab. "My handle on flying is good enough. .......But after this it can only get better, right? No pain, no gain. And this wind will surely be a pain, so we only have everything to gain!"

She smiled. "Will that sound good that you are getting there.  who knows maybe you can learn flying tricks too?"  She felt the winds blowing and snorted. "Hmm is it me or is the wind picking up?" she asked both of them as she may not see the world around her but she can sure feel it.

Ra nodded as he too felt the shift in the winds speed. He looked to the sky. "At least it's not raining or worse." Ra said trying to hide his already anxious feelings that he had about the changing weather. Without much thought Ra turned his head twords the nightmare who was only a small distance away.

"Tricks...." He smiled to himself. At the very least, he could play off his clumsy fumbling flying as trying to learn and work on tricks... It would be easier than admitting that he barely had the basics down. (In his defense, it was a lot harder with giant wings and exactly zero tail.) "Heh. Yeah, I like the sound of that. Too bad you won't be able to see me show off!" Or fuck up...

Avanira was going to reply but the last part hurt a bit as she did not say a word.  She try to hide the tears as she wipe her eyes and mutter about dust or something. She felt her body get push up by gust of wind but she got herself right and stay close to Ra. "Is the weather changing?  the wind feeling bit more stronger now."

"Hey Instead of insulting the only one of us who is blind maybe we should find a place to wait out the upcoming storm." Ra suggested as he started to feel a few small drops of rain on his hide.

"Huh? Insult??" He looked genuinely confused as he tried to fly closer to Avanira and get a look her her face. It was hard to tell how she was feeling since she hadn't said anything in reply.  "I.... didn't mean it to be mean. It was just a joke." Ardrim pouted a little, ears drooping. "Sorry."

He paused a little, awkward. "....But anyway! We've only just started! It's not storming too bad yet, c'mon, let's go a little further."

Avanira had her ears back as she did feel hurt by the joke but look to where his voice was coming from. "No the winds are picking up and the rain drops are going to come down fast and get your wings wet and with the cold weather here could freeze your wings.  We have to wait out the storm." She turn her head away.  She look at Ra. "Can you spot any cave we can stay in and wait out the storm?".

Ra smiled at his blind companion. "Actually yes. The only problem is I don't know if all three of us can fit." Ra muttered just loud enough for his two companions to hear. He hated the thought of one of them being left out in the storm. His mind slowed seemed to understand that he would most likely be the one out in the rain

He let out a huff. As much as he hated to admit it, Avanira was right. He had enough trouble flying in good weather and the worse it got, the more danger he would be in. And he didn't want the other two to have to endanger themselves by helping him because he was too prideful to stop when he should. It just...felt too much like giving up. But he didn't want to upset Avanira any more than he already had with his joke that had fallen flat, so he gave in. "Let's try, at least. I won't mind being a little squished as long as you don't crush my wings."

She look at Ra. "Hmm will let try anyway if we can." She think over a idea. "Hmm Ra maybe i could stay on your back so there is room for you and Ardrim."  It was idea but she hope it would work.

Ra smiled before he let out a sigh. "That could possibly work but I'm afraid my hight won't give you enough room." He said as he slowly flew twords the cave. It was honestly more of a hole in the wall than a cave but hopefully it would help keep them safe from the rain

"Here, I'll sit closer to outside, I can use my wings to shield us from the wind and rain." Hopefully he'd finally  found a way to make use of the awkwardly huge limbs, and in a way that would benefit them all instead of inconveniencing everyone. Adrim waited for them both to huddle in as far as they could before he'd land.

She land and walk in as she nose around until she bump into Ra and then lay down next to him.  She twitch her nose as she sniff the air.  She like the smell of when it rain and all the earthy smells came up.

Ra turned his gaze to the tailless nightmare before he decided to smile. He could feel Avanira as she was extremely close to him. He tried not to move as he coiled his tail similar to a chameleons. "Get in here adrim before I start to fall asleep and take all of the room." Ra jokingly threatened his nightmare companion.

"Yeah, yeah, no need to rush me. I'm not exactly trying to get blown away in the wind, you know." Despite his words, Ardrim was smiling right back, joking before he landed and squeezed into what little room was left. Facing Ra and Avanira, he opened his wings behind him to shelter them all as the rain finally started to fall. "We might as well get a bit of rest now anyway, there's not much else we can do." With that, he laid his head down and closed his eyes.
