[Trade] unfortunate decision

The four drakiri all make their way through the green field. Ran is flying above them, his tiny legs unable to keep up with the pace of the others. She is significantly smaller than all of them, except spessy, only the kelpie seems to be doing fine even though the rest is walking so fast. Her condition must be much better than hers, since she was barely able to walk any further a few minutes ago. They all had to take a break for her to catch her breath. When she was ready to move again she just decided to fly around, which tires her a lot less. 

Mal is walking in front of them, taking the lead since he did not trust any of them to walk in the right direction. He constantly looks back at Spessy and the other two dracus’s to make sure they are still there, walking behind him. ‘’Is he always like this?’’ Kalam dares ask Spessy. Mal hears her and looks back, growling softly and squinting his eyes intimidatingly at her. 

She just gulps, and Spessy starts to laugh at her reaction. ‘’Just let him do his thing and we will be fine’’she says to her. ‘’But yes’’ She laughs. Rán just keeps looking at the big Dracus in front of her. His bright colors let him stand out from everything around them. He can probably be spotted from miles away. A bit entranced by it she stares while flying. She only does not spot the tree In front of her and almost flies right into it, dodging it the very last second.

She misses the fact that Mal has stopped walking, and is now looking around, very much alert. The dracus hears something and does not trust it. Rán looks back and sees the others stand there behind Mal and she instantly dives behind them. ‘’What is happening?’’ She asks a bit quietly.

Spessy rolls her eyes. ‘’It is nothing, Mal. Lets just continue. Nothing or no one is walking here.’’ She says while walking around him. She continues to follow the path they have been walking on and ignores when Mal shouts ‘’Look out!’’ She only starts to worry when she looks behind her and sees him  racing towards her. She quickly looks around and her eyes focus on a big beast running right at her. It is much larger than her and barging right at her. 

She quickly turns around and starts to run towards Mal. She does not notice Rán flying right towards her until the Dracus barrels right into her side and pushes her out of the path of the beast. The two roll through the grass after the impact while Mal runs into the beast and tries to fight it towards the ground.

Kalam, who is not much of a fighter herself, helps Mal by flying above him and trying to get a hit on it with her teeth. Both drakiri’s work together to get the beast down to the ground. Its sharp claws manage to hit Mal’s shoulders and the Dracus roars from the impact. The talons slice deep into his skin, but Mal is only able to feel his anger at the moment. Anger at the beast for bringing them in danger, and trying to hurt them. He slashes down onto its face with his tail and the creature loses its balance for a second, giving Kalam just enough time to dive straight down and clam her teeth into its throat.

Spessy and Rán just look at one another, not really sure what to do. Rán would probably only be in the way and Spessy also does not really feel like much of a fighter, so the two just watch while the others take on the massive beast. Spessy instantly feels some shame for not listening to Mal. She is sure he is gonna voice later on how he feels about her action. For now she only hopes for him to get out of this fight safely. It looks like Kalam and Mal have the upper hand, but she does not dare hope too much. 

Mal is able to get a few good hits at the beast, and it looks ready to give up. The beast softly starts to yelp with every hit it takes, every one a bit harder than the last. After a while it starts to back down and rushes back to the forest it came from. Mal chases it for a second to make sure it is really gone and stares at the tree line for a minute to see if it really left. 

Spessy slowly stands up and looks at Mal when he walks back. She averts her gaze and clears her throat, not really sure what to say. But a quick angry look from Mal has her instantly regretting each action, when she also sees him limping on his hurt leg. 

Kalam and Rán share a look and slowly back away from the couple, regretting they have set out to explore today.
