It was a beautiful, bright, warm and sunny day, all was going just perfectly peacefully in the world. Cassiopeia blinked her heavy eyelids open and woke up, all the bones in her body cracking as she stretched. She could just feel it in her recently cracked bones that today was the day that she was going to start focusing on herself, her peace of mind, her happiness, and being selfish. Most of the time you're told that everyone is too selfish, not caring about anyone else, but all too often Cassiopeia has seen other Drakiri being selfless and doing everything and anything for others, like helping them train, or watching their kids. She had been a prime Drakiri victim of being too kind to others and not kind enough to herself, everyone always taking advantage of all the nice things she would offer to others. She wandered slowly and quite around the forest looking for anything new or exciting, like a critter she hadn't seen, or a drakiri friend, or even just some beautiful part of nature when she came across a pond. Cassiopeia sits at the edge of the pond, its bright reflective water making the sun rays bounce all over the forest, and pokes the water with her claw creating a little ripple, she leans over slowly as to not fall into the water and looks at her reflection smiling at what she saw, a beautiful drakiri staring back up at her, there was the selfless girl she knew and needed to give more love to. Her focus is pulled back to nature as a beautiful fish that almost closely resembled her swam around in the beautiful rippling water in front of her, she smiles gently and watches the gorgeous fish for a while seeing how happy and fluidly it swam through the shiny transparent water. Part of her envied the fish in the water because she wished she could be that beautiful and happy, but that quickly disappeared, replaced by happiness for the fish. It probably didn't even know what it looked like therefore how could it care? Maybe more things in the world just needed to see the world through something elses eyes, it would make the world a better place for sure. At least a more carefree world. Cassiopeia touches the water gently causing a few ripples to go across the water. The fish startled by the sudden moving water swims vigorously to the other side of the pond, Cassiopeia watches the fish amused and smiles, the fish whilst not knowing what happens in the world around it at least knew to swim away for survival. She shakes herself off of the thoughts of the fish and continues trotting through the forest thinking of all the things she could do to make herself feel special, like she deserved some time to herself, maybe brushing her mane and tail. She hadnt had them brushed in a while so maybe a silky smooth tail and mane was just what she needed to brighten her day. Cassiopeia kept trotting through the forest, she would get to her tail and mane later, she wanted to enjoy everything that nature had to offer her, smelling the fresh wind of nature made her feel like she was somewhere special and somewhere she could enjoy. She closes her eyes letting her senses guide her and make her feel like she truly was in the wild, in a way she almost felt like the fish wandering in the pond, that was until she trips over a log. She grumbles to herself annoyed as she opens her eyes and looks around, she uses her two front legs to push herself back up and shakes the twigs and leaves that were all over her off of her, not her tail and mane though... After that tumble she really needed to brush her tail and mane, there were twigs and leaves everywhere in her hair which was very annoying, now not only will it make her look cute but now she's going to have to go through immense pain. Grumbling to herself she rolls her eyes and starts to head towards her small little area on the outside of the forest. Not too many drakiri were around her but she did have a few neighbors, so hopefully they wouldn't see her covered in twigs and leaves. She grabs one of her many combs and starts with her tail dragging the comb painfully slowly through all the leaves and twigs, after each stroke of the comb she cleans the comb of the twigs and leaves. Everytime the comb snagged on a twig or a leaf she winced in pain, but she knew itd be worth it when she was done brushing both her tail and mane. She goes at this for a while until her tail is clean and beautiful and she nods proudly at herself, a happy smile gracing her face. She takes a small break to just admire her tail, impending dread was going through her as she knew her mane was going to be a much bigger challenge. She shakes the dread from her head and replaces it with a sense of clarity knowing her tail and mane were going to be clean and beautiful. She repeats the same process she just did to her tail to her mane but it takes 10x longer to get it completely clean, when she finally gets it clean she looks into her little mirror and smiles at her gorgeous and clean complexion. This was the drakiri she couldn't wait to see, and now that she finally got to see it pride bursts through her veins. She can feel the wind flowing through her clean mane and tail energy coursing through her veins, this was an eye opener for her and she will never forget. Cassiopeia raises her head to the sky and soaks in the sunlight knowing she was the gorgeous drakiri she knew she deserved to be today, a day to herself was a much needed task.
